Thanks for the birthday wishes, Tokki, Tara, Fan, and Mike!

OMG yay! I really needed those few days off! Life has been giving me quite a nasty spin and now I’m feeling more like my head is on straight which is a good thing since so many things are coming up and needing attention. But seriously, what a crazy wonderful 25th year it’s been for me in growing up and life’s lessons and becoming more independent. I took some huge steps and while some things didn’t turn out the way I had hoped, I still learned a lot and grew along the way. Now that I’m 26 (holy crap!), there’s no turning back so I gotta start being more grown up, taking care of myself (mind, body, and soul) and work (race up that corporate ladder) and finances (plan and invest for the future) properly. There are things I should stop wasting time on but yet still always remember to have fun along the way. You always knew that being a grown up would be hard but OMG is it ever. Life is a struggle but it doesn’t have to be and I will keep striving for a more enjoyable life.

I spent the weekend in SoCal! Lam and I drove down and we stayed at his house. We spent Saturday dining and dessert hopping with Katherine and Tokki and Tokki’s friend! And we karaoked too! woo! forgot how much fun that is even when we stuck to english songs only ^_^ Thanks, Tokki, for showing us all the yummy places!

Lam just had to take me to Royal/T Cafe so he can tell his friends about it! <3
See the lovely crystal flower earrings from Tokki!? eee! so pretty! thank you!

I really enjoyed staying with Lam and visiting his family. His little cousins are so cute and I love playing with them! I get a taste of what it would feel like to have little sisters (a little brother is not nearly as fun). So nice to be around family and just have fun and not feel stress by all the drama and rules and high expectations. In spite of the crazy heat, it was a very relaxing trip!

On our drive back up to the Bay Area Monday afternoon, Lam picked up some really really fresh ribeye steaks from Harris Ranch (where the cows live!) and cooked up a really really delicious steak and stuffing dinner for the two of us when we got home. Mmmm man, I love being a carnivore cuz the steaks were so juicy and yummy!

And Lam’s gift to me was so unbelievable! He got me an electric piano! OMG! I’ve been playing with it all day since! I have some digital sheet music on my computer so I positioned my monitor behind the piano to read the music! It’s hard getting back into playing the piano after not playing for the last few years cuz of college and work, but it’s satisfying to play music again! Thank so much, baby~!!! <3<3<3<3<3 I need to sew a cover for it soon to protect it from dust etc…

Tuesday, Lam and I celebrated Pre-Earth Day with Lam at the California Academy of Sciences Museum in San Francisco! Super fun time seeing the rainforest and exhibits and OMG the planetarium is amazing and the awesome rooftop garden and yes it was super sunny! *squinty eyes!* We went on the perfect day cuz there it wasn’t very crowded so there were no lines and we got to see every inch of the place and hit all the events happening that day! eee penguin feeding! too cute! The planetarium show is worth the cost of the entire ticket cuz it was a very educational experience and the visual effects were stunning! The rainforest was interesting cuz it was indoors and probably still growing so it should be a fantastic lush rainforest over the next few years. Same with the rooftop garden. The architecture of the roof itself is amazing and so innovative and cool to behold, but they did just start planting not too long ago so there were only a handful of blossoming flowers here and there but I can imagine the roof really blooming with plants and flowers and buzzing bees and butterflies in the future! We took a ton of pics and videos till my camera battery died >_<

Rooftop Garden~~
That’s the shirt Lam got me for V-day *^_^*

It’s been so so so SO HELLA HOT these last few days! I’ve been too exhausted from heat to do anything! I don’t want to sew or knit a thing but just go swimming in cool cold water! Thank goodness I finished these projects before the heat wave cuz it wouldn’t have been impossible the last few days!

Border 5 of my Medallion Quilt Along – Zig Zags!
I tried to make flying geese the proper way and even the shortcut way but
it was taking me way too long and my points never lined up properly! arg!
So I switched to the Denyse Schmid way (see the bottom and top borders)
where I cut 3 3/4″ squares diagonally once then sewed the short sides of the
resulting triangles together then sewed two rows of that together — much easier!

Quilt top for the Doll Quilt Swap 6
I think my partner will like this better than my other ideas cuz of the colors…
I’ve changed my mind so many times!!! I have to decide fast!
I even used some of my treasured Freshcut stash cuz I know s/he will like it!
And I looove making dresden plates cuz you know I can’t stop myself!
Next I gotta quilt this and send it out fast! The deadline is coming up so soon!

Hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying the sunny weather!

Lotsa luv~! <3<3<3<3
